Artist Statement:
As an artist, I work hard to create paintings that speak both to me and to others about the fleeting moments we see in everyday life. I don't want to merely capture an image with my brushes, I want to give those moments life and breath. I believe there is intense beauty in the things that we do or see every day and may not even take special notice of. It can be hard to slow down long enough to notice this beauty. The challenge with any recreated moment is to not simply create a caricature but to give witness to the momentary glory of people and things. Hopefully, my artwork will give viewers the chance to slow down and notice these brief glimpses of life.
