Artist Statement:
I think artists are born with an intrinsic love of color and drawing. Drawing was my first love. For some twenty years, watercolor was my medium of choice, painting architectural landmarks and commission work. I loved the simplicity of watercolors, the ”just add water” mentality behind the medium. Then came a turning point, artistically speaking. After a trip to San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico, my focus changed from the easy flow of watercolors to the texture and patina made possible by acrylics and mixed media.

Bio:
Travel has always influenced Carol's artwork. She spent her four high school years in Rome, Italy, the cradle of art history. Rome is a city blessed with a culture that has loved and respected art for centuries, and studying there had a direct impact on her path in life.
She then attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, graduating in 1978 with a degree in literature and art history. She has since then taught art in public and private schools, choosing to inspire the up-and-coming generation with a love of art. In 2005, she was chosen to create the awards for the Montgomery Business and Committee for the Arts. Her artwork has also appeared in numerous books and publications.
